You will be visiting the second most ancient capital kingdoms of Sri Lanka, which is known as Polonnaruwa. The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site and offers hours of endless pleasure for culture, nature, and history lovers, as there are various sights of significance. Most of the ruins standing tall today are built during the reign of King Parakrama Bahu I. The king’s Royal Palace, the Audience Hall which is encircled by beautifully carved stone elephants, and the Bathing Pool reflect the superior engineering methods during the magical era.

                                 

                                                                             

                         

In the afternoon, visit Minneriya National Park, which is located in the heart of the popular cultural triangle of Sri Lanka. This national park is mostly known for its incredible elephant migration, which is one of Asia’s finest wildlife experiences. During the months between June to September, as many as 300 elephants gather in the Minneriya National Park around the ancient Minneriya water tank which dates back to the 3rd Century AD.
