This short tour will give you a glimpse of the magical island covering most of the unique sites, locations, and beaches.
Day 01 – Arrival/Negombo (01 Night) –
Upon arriving in Sri Lanka, travel to a convenient accommodation closer to the International Airport. Relax and rejuvenate yourself for the adventure awaiting you.
Day 02 – Dambulla & Sigiriya (01Night) –
Lion’s Rock in Sigiriya, Sri Lanka’s iconic location offers plenty of exposure to the rich history of the small, compact island. Explore the water gardens, frescos in Sigiriya, or take a hike to the Pidurangala Rock Monastery to have a stunning view of Sigiriya and Dambulla Cave Complex.
Day 03 – Kandy (01Night) –
The road from the Sigiriya is scenic with few optional stops.
Visit the Temple of the Tooth relic in Kandy, where a sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha enshrined since the 4th century AD. Religious services are held thrice a day with traditional drumming and music where the travelers can participate too.
You can wander around the beautiful Kandy lake while exploring the different types of birdlife. The option of visiting the Royal Botanical Garden would make you amazed by the flora and fauna on this magical island.
Day 04 – Nuwara Eliya (01Night) –
The journey to the wonderful landscapes of the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. You can enjoy a visit to a tea plantation to observe the process, starting from the plucking field to the factory, where the process begins.
Take a walk in the city of lights exploring the British colonial buildings and Lake Gregory, which was built in 1873 during the period of the British Governor Sir William Gregory.
Day 05 – Ella/ Yala National Park or Udawalawe National Park (01NIght) –
Leaving Little England to take one of the most unique train journeys in the world from Nanu
Oya(Nuwara Eliya) to Ella. There onwards track to see a couple of Ella’s unique landmarks,
Little Adams Peak and Nine Arch Bridge Train Bridge, known as the Bridge in the sky, is
one of the best examples of colonial period railway construction in the country.
While traveling towards Yala National Park, a short stop at Rawana Water Falls. Option of visiting Udawalawe
National Park instead of Yala National Park.
Day 06 – Galle (01Night) –
Enjoy the scenic south coast route to the historic city of Galle. Spent several hours wondering
along the ramparts, narrow streets while exploring the 17th century Dutch Fort’s historic
buildings and architecture. Enjoy the last night of your holiday for a taste of one of Sri Lanka’s
fabulous beaches.
Day 07 – Departure/Colombo –
On the last day of your holiday depending on the departure schedule, a visit to the commercial
capital of Colombo is possible to capture colonial and modern architecture buildings to add
more memories of your holiday.
